Kanal camp was held for tribal students at Pavana Pastoral centre, Mananthavady on September 19th and 20th. On September 19, Mr. Majesh Raman and Mrs. Aswathi, from the District Child Protection Unit, took classes and conducted group activities on child rights and the POCSO Act. Later, class on Basic English language was organized at group level. Different groups performed art programs during the cultural night.
On September 20, basic classes on Malayalam and Mathematics were held in the morning. A focus group discussion was held with the students regarding the educational situation of tribals in Wayanad. The students shared their happy experiences and difficulties they face at school and at home. 52 students from various hamlets of Wayanad district participated in the camp.
