Annual General Body meeting of Neethi Vedhi

The 17th annual general body meeting of Neethi Vedhi was held on 8th July at Kakkavayal office. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, some members could not be present. Mr. James Thomas welcomed the gathering. Dr. Thomas Joseph Therakam presided over the meeting. In his presidential address, he mentioned the new challenges in the present and post covid situations. He asked the members to reflect on the changing role we have to play in the coming months and years. Ms Flaisy Jose presented the annual report. Adv. Jomol Joy presented the audited accounts of last year and the proposed budget for this year. 

It was decided to have more virtual conferences and other meetings in the present context. The director is entrusted to arrange the network meetings for different groups. There was serious discussion on the serious consequences of wildlife conflict for adivasis and farmers. It is decided to take up the issue using legal recourse as soon as possible. There was critical reflection on the impact of online classes in adivasi hamlets. Ms. Santhi Sunil proposed vote of thanks.
